TURIN – They remained innocent for thirteen months but yesterday two Albanians obtained 550 million in compensation from the Italian State for “unjust detention”. The two were arrested in June 1999, accused by a young compatriot of being their rapists and having induced her to prostitute herself. At the trial the lawyers of the Albanians had shown that the story was false and that the two accused on the day they abused the girl were not even together and had phoned from different places as phone records had shown.
