Baquba– At least 25 people were killed when a van exploded in Baquba, northeast of Baghdad. There are at least 40 wounded. The attack was carried out in a market in the village of Huaider, along the road on which the mosque also faces, about sixty kilometers from the Iraqi capital. “It happened a few minutes after the Ramadan had stopped,” a hospital source said. “This attack has caused more than twenty deaths and numerous injuries, which are taken to hospitals in Baquba,” he added. A France press photographer described panic scenes in the Baquba general hospital, where medical staff were overwhelmed by the number of bodies brought by rescuers. “This was done because we are Shiites”, relatives of the victims were heard shouting amid ambulance sirens.
