Suez, a US warship, fired and killed an Egyptian peddler
CAIRO – An Egyptian was killed and two others wounded when shots were fired at two approaching boats from a US warship entering the Suez Canal. This was reported by a source of Egyptian security services stating that some peddlers were on board the two boats. According to the source, while the ship, the Global Patriot, was preparing to enter the southern part of the canal, to move from the Red Sea to the Mediterranean, some street vendors aboard small boats headed for it to try to sell their merchandise. They were ordered to stop by the ship, but the sellers instead continued to approach and at that point, fire was opened from the edge of the military unit.
