USA, manhunt in Michigan
kills seven people and then commits suicide

CHICAGO – Two shootings, seven victims, hostages and a manhunt that ended in suicide: the flight of Rodrick Shonte Dantzler, 34, ended up in a house in Grand Rapids, where he killed himself. The tragedy happened in Michigan and held the United States for hours in suspense.

The man had started a series of murders, first with the killing of two women and a 10-year-old girl in Grand Rapids. Then, after escaping aboard an old Lincoln Towne, he would open fire on the occupants of another car, killing four other people, three women and one man. The car, with the broken rear window, was found near an apartment complex in the city.

Only then did the police surround Dantzler, who, however, entrenched himself in a house with two hostages. Here he still held firm, until the decision to commit suicide.

According to local media reports, members of Dantzler’s family said the man had recently been released from prison and that he seemed deeply shaken. According to the same sources, the suspect could suffer from bipolar disorders (alternating depression and euphoria) and be deprived of his medication.
