Cleveland, DNA test on the girl:

“She is the daughter of the kidnapper Ariel Castro”

NEW YORK – The DNA test confirmed that Ariel Castro, the Cleveland kidnapper , is the father of the six-year-old girl found in his home along with three girls kidnapped ten years earlier. This was announced by the Ohio attorney general’s office, Mike DeWine. The child is the daughter of Amanda Berry, held captive along with Gina Dejesus and Michelle Knight. Castro is in jail after an eight-million-dollar bail has been set, indicted for kidnapping and rape. And the prosecutor intends to request that he be sentenced to death.

According to the latest details he is providing to the police, Castro created a torture chamber in the house that for ten years was a private prison in the heart of the city. His two brothers, Pedro and Onil, were released from prison. The 52-year-old Ariel is in jail, watched to prevent him from taking his own life.

The Cuyahoga County prosecutor, Timothy McGinty, aims to have Castro convicted of “aggravated murder”. He stated that he would engage in this legal battle later having examined “every act of sexual violence, every day of kidnapping, any abuse”. But above all he wants to convince the jury that “the forced interruption of pregnancies” during a kidnapping is a murder in all respects. For McGinty, the fact that Castro had “a private prison and a torture chamber” would make his formal indictment for “aggravated murder” possible.
