Egypt, premier: Muslim Brotherhood “terrorist organization”

CAIRO – Egyptian Prime Minister Hazem el-Beblawi called the Muslim Brotherhood, the Islamist organization of the deposed president Mohamed Morsi, a “terrorist organization”.

The words of the premier arrive shortly after an attack against the police in northern Egypt, whose budget speaks at the moment of 14 dead and over 100 wounded. A strong explosion partially destroyed the 5-story building of a police station in Mansura, a hundred kilometers north of Cairo, along the Nile delta. It was caused by a car bomb. The police chief is also among the wounded. The attack came the day after the threat of a group linked to the al-Qaeda galaxy.

The Muslim Brotherhood, through a communiqué issued by London, however denies the responsibility of the attack: “The brotherhood condemns the attack in the strongest terms – the note reads – is a direct attack on the Egyptian people and we call for a rapid inquiry to deliver those responsible of this crime to justice “.
