Pakistan: Taliban attack kills children in a school, 141 dead

ISLAMABAD – Strike the little ones, to avenge pain with pain. This is the crazy idea that prompted the Taliban of the abbreviation TTP (Tehreek-and-Taliban Pakistan) to choose today’s public school in Peshawar, targeting pupils between 6 and 16 years old, as the target of today’s attack in Peshawar, children of members of the army.

The budget is 141 victims, of which more than 130 students: “We have carefully chosen the target to hit with our attack. The government is targeting our families and our women. We want them to feel the same pain” said Pakistani Taliban spokesman Mohammed Umar Khorasani, claiming the attack started at 10.30am local time (6.30am Italian time).
There are more than 122 injured, of which 80 are seriously injured. The Peshawar attack “is just a trailer” and soon there will be more attacks, Khorasani announced.

The terrorists, a nucleus of nine elements, entered the building holding approximately 500 students and teachers hostage. The Pakistani army has made it known that all the attackers have died.

The attack is a national crisis according to Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. After the attack, security measures were increased in the capital Islamabad and the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province declared three days of mourning for the students killed in the action.
