Bomb alarm at the Eiffel Tower

PARIS – The bomb alarm on the Eiffel Tower lasted about an hour: at 17.30 the police allowed tourists to go up on the elevators that go back up to the top of the monument.

The alarm was triggered after an anonymous phone call to the agents of a police station in the capital announcing the presence of a bomb on the Eiffel Tower. As a precaution, all the tourists present inside the monument-symbol have been evacuated. After an inspection by the bomb squad, the alarm came back.
