France, car falls against a pizzeria: a little girl killed, 6 wounded. The driver is arrested
A 13-year-old girl died and twelve injured people, four in very serious condition. This is the result of the crash of a car, a BMW, against the tables of a pizzeria in a commercial area at Sept-Sorts, near La Ferté sous-Jouarre, in Seine-et-Marne, in the Paris region, 50 kilometers from the historic center of the capital. “All those who were in the room were mowed down by the car,” a witness told the Bfmtv channel. The driver of the car was arrested but the authorities seem to exclude hypothesis of terrorism.
The prosecutor’s office of Meaux, who questioned the man, speaks of “deliberate act”, but that “for the moment has nothing to do with a terrorist act”. According to a judicial source, the first declarations of the man allow to reject the terrorist track. It is considered “very probable”, instead, that he drove the car under the influence of drugs. The 32-year-old said he wanted to crash into the pizzeria wall and that he had weapons in the car. His name and face are unknown to intelligence.
Pierre-Henry Brandet, spokesman for the Interior Ministry in Paris, said it was a French citizen who had attempted suicide last week. He was born in 1985, he did not resist when the police stopped him. The man, according to the spokesman of the Interior Ministry of Paris, had no criminal record.
