It was just a motor that went up in flames that, on Wednesday morning around 10, triggered the alarm in the central Avenue Foch: the prestigious avenue where there are several offices of foreign representations.

The first information reported an explosion occurred in front of the building that houses the military mission of Jordan in Paris. But immediately the Jordanian embassy had told the agencies that it did not consider the incident as a direct gesture to target Jordan.

A false alarm, however, that immediately caused the police to trip. For about an hour all access roads to the area – such as Rue Victoire and Rue Lafayette – were closed: access to vehicles and pedestrians was prevented. The metro station Le Peletier (line 12) is also closed. The area is also a sensitive place because, in addition to hosting the diplomatic offices, it is full of shops and therefore very popular with tourists and citizens. Furthermore, there is a synagogue and the seat of the Grand Orient of France.
