Removed the ban on gay marriages 
from August 18th will be celebrated

WASHINGTON – In California, homosexual couples will be able to get married again starting August 18th. It was established by a federal court, after last week the same judge declared the “Proposition 8” referendum unconstitutional , in which, on November 4, 2008, 52% of Californians had banned homosexual unions. The case could now be examined by the Washington Supreme Court.

On August 4, judge Vaughn R. Walker established that the ban introduced in 2008 was unconstitutional. A week later, the same judge rejected the appeal lodged against that decision, reiterating the same reasons already expressed with the previous sentence. And that is that, according to the Constitution of California, the Proposition 8 is to be considered unconstitutional and from the debate developed during the week did not emerge elements that would make him change his mind.

For this reason, homosexual marriages in California can be celebrated again starting from August 18th, a technical time for the decision of the chief judge of the Northern California District Court to take effect. However, the case is destined to continue at different levels of judgment, and many observers believe it will reach the United States Supreme Court.
