Final without history
Nadal wins in Tokyo

TOKYO (Japan) -Seventh seasonal success (43rd in career) for Rafael Nadal. The Spanish, number one in the world, won the Tokyo tournament by beating the Frenchman Gael Monfils 6-1, 7-5 in the final. Nadal, winner this season of three of the four Grand Slam trials (Roland Garros, Wimbledon and Us Open) confirmed his great moment of form: the Majorcan lost only eight times in 74 matches and in the final, he bowed only one time (in Doha against the Russian Davydenko). “I want to continue to play my best in this season finale and at the Masters in London (21-28 November), the most difficult tournament in my opinion”. The Japanese final had no history. Nadal did not give Monfils time to get into the game, he made the break at the second and sixth game and easily won the first partial.

RAIN IN BEIJING – The rain has forced the organizers to postpone the finals of the men’s and women’s tournament in Beijing, China. Among the men the title is played by the Serbian Novak Djokovic, defending champion and seeded number one, and Spaniard David Ferrer (N.8). In the women’s field the Danish Caroline Wozniacki, the new number one in the world, challenges the Russian Vera Zvonareva (No. 2).
