Petrov has leukemia

BIRMINGHAM – Another drama in English football. After the cardiac arrest that hit the Bolton player, Fabrice Muamba, who is fortunately recovering, come the news that the captain of the Aston Villa, Stiliyan Petrov, is sick with leukemia. In a statement, the English club explains that “the 32-year-old Bulgarian midfielder had a fever after the last league game against Arsenal and the tests he underwent brought the disease to light”.

The club “expects to know more about Stiliyan’s situation – the note reads – but has already moved to support him and his family. Petrov is loved by all the fans and will get all the needed support to get out of Aston Villa positively from the disease “.
