Spain, Messi makes another record: 500 victories against Barcelona

BARCELONA – Leo Messi adds another record to his extraordinary career. In the evening, thanks to the brace made in the King’s Cup against Leganes (5-0 the final), the Argentine celebrated 500 victories in 710 games with the Barcelona shirt in all competitions. The ‘Pulce’ contributed to the easy success by scoring first on De Jong’s assists and then on Rakitic’s suggestion.
He won 7 out of 10 games and scored 612 goals for Barça
Messi, in addition to 500 wins, boasts 131 draws and 79 losses so far. In practice he has won 7 out of 10 games played since he made his debut on October 16, 2004 against Espanyol, just 17 years old. Messi celebrated 349 victories in the La Liga, 83 in the Champions League, 51 in the King’s Cup, 9 in the Spanish Super Cup, 5 in the Club World Cup and 3 in the European Super Cup. Messi has won 285 of the 348 games played at Camp Nou, that is 81 out of 100 matches. With the two goals at Leganés, he has already put together a total of 612 goals with Barca.

Meanwhile, the surprises continue in the King’s Cup. Sevilla, third in the La Liga but beaten 3-1 on the Mirandes field, formation of the Spanish Serie B, go out in the round of 16. Aias’ brace in the first half hour knocks out the Andalusians, Pena graces them from the spot but in the end Rey’s trio arrives, with Nolito’s goal at the end which only serves to make the passive weight less heavy for Lopetegui’s team.
