USA, a chemical alarm in the Senate. Found ricin powder

WASHINGTON – The fear returns in the buildings of American politics: in a building that houses offices of the United States Senate, on the Capitol of Washington, the police found a white powder, turned out positive to ricin.

The dust was found in the Dirksen Senate Office Building, one of the three Capitol buildings occupied by parliamentarians and their collaborators, in the antechamber of Senator Bill Frist’s office. The politician is the leader of the Republican majority, meaning the most powerful man in the Senate.

In the autumn of 2001, in some offices of the Congress, envelopes with carbuncle powder were delivered, which caused the closure by disinfestation of some buildings. Also, in this case the substance was contained in an envelope. Ricin is a poison which the Al Qaeda terrorist network is suspected of having in its possession, and which on the eve of the Iraq war was counted among the weapons of extermination held by Saddam Hussein.
